Flora Thompson quote...

'"Thank God for my good dinner. Thank Father and Mother. Amen" was the grace used in one family, and it certainly had the merit of giving credit where credit was due.'

Cinematography

I was asked to film a wedding on Saturday. Much easier said than done. It doesn't help when the tripod creaks and the recessional seems to have disapeared. Though everyone seems to tell me that I've done a fantastic job on it, all I can say is I hope the Bride and Groom don't mind some of (major) hiccups that come packaged with the DVD I'm making for them.
Anyway, the second issue of Salvo arrived on Friday, comments coming soon...

NOTE: Is filmtography actually a real word?

I'm reading a new book...

Lark Rise to Candleford by Flora Thompson is meant to be a classic, but I'd never heard of it before until I pulled it off the bookshelf. As a result, I've started to read it. Though I haven't got very far yet, it's an interesting semi-autobiographical story of country life in the 1880's. It's also a compilation of Flora Thompson's trilogy, Lark Rise, Over to Candleford and Candleford Green. Anyway, I'd better get on with reading it instead of just talking. I'll post a few quotes/comments in the days ahead.

NOTE: A proper post will arrive soon, but I'm quite new to this and keep on forgetting that I actually have a blog!

Aaron Sprinkle

Aaron Sprinkle... ring any bells? I doubt it. Plagued by bad distribution and unheard-of record labels this guy has hard time getting himself known to the world. Though now a full-time producer for Tooth & Nail Records, making him the mind behind bands Anberlin, Emery and The Almost (to name a few), Aaron's not gone yet. He decided to bring his career as a solo artist to an end in 2004, but only to come back with something with something bigger... this time a band, but more on that in a later post. Sprinkle certainly is a genius when it comes music. No one can deny the catchy feel-goodness of "Really Something" or the poignant message of "The Boy Who Stopped the World". Snatch him up while you have the chance, four out his five CDs are already out-of-print, this silver pearl of a musician is not someone to take lightly.

Lewis quote...

'The hardness of God is kinder than the softness of men, and His compulsion is our liberation.'

In the meantime, please feel free to purchase any eatables of your choice from the canteen on the right...
